Barista

Located in the Bay Area, Coffee Bar has a clean and modern aesthetic. They take their coffee very seriously, but as baristas they don't take themselves too seriously! They want to be approachable and welcoming to everyone. Though they accept entry level baristas without experience they want all employees to work on their skills ongoing. They work closely with Mr. Espresso (who provides their coffee) and they provide training and employees can even visit their roasting plant! At Coffee Bar, they look to hire people who want to stick around and grow with them.

They are currently looking to hire baristas for two of their locations, Montgomery St. and Kearny St. Coffee Bar encourages all who are interested to apply, regardless of coffee experience!

Role

Coffee Bar is looking for a barista who provides consistent, fantastic customer service in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. They should actively participate in their continued education of Coffee Bar’s products and their training. Additionally, the barista will be expected craft and serve an exceptional product that they are proud of.

The ideal candidate adheres to local and company policies including: excellence in food safety, operational and behavioral expectations. Baristas and their team will complete daily duties that include: Helping/ talking with customers, cleaning (for example: taking out the trash, mopping, wiping down counters, dusting), re-stocking, preparing drinks, cashiering, preparing their house-made syrups, minimal food preparations, supporting baristas on bar, etc.

Requirements

  • Interest in coffee and working in a customer focused environment

  • Willing to communicate effectively with team members and senior leadership

  • Ability to work well in an dynamic environment

  • Past experience in retail coffee desirable

  • Previous customer service experience can substitute for this

  • Thrives on being part of a team experience

Salary

Salary starts at $15/Hour plus tips. (Historically tips have been around $6/Hour.) They love to promote folks that are proving themselves and want to grow into other roles. They have been known to give employees a raise after the first 90 days if the employee is doing well!
