New York City
Barista

Colson Patisserie is an established NY wholesale bakery with well-loved cafes in Park Slope and Industry City. Their Park Slope outlet hosts lots of kids and families, with booming weekend business and a steady flow of fresh pastry coming from the on-site kitchen. They take the caliber of their product very seriously. Management also cares deeply about making sure their cafes are rewarding, fulfilling work environments where the staff takes care of each other and holds themselves to the highest standard.

Role

Colson Patisserie is seeking killer baristas with charisma, grace, speed, and very high standards! The right candidate would be an experienced barista who wants to grow their coffee knowledge, loves starting regulars' orders as they walk through the door, and is utterly unflappable in high-volume rushes. You communicate well in teams, wipe up stray splashes and coffee grinds as soon as you see them, and take great joy in crushing the rush.

You're someone with an attention to detail, such as this one: they will not be getting back to anyone who doesn't put the word 'crepe' somewhere in the application. You’re naturally outgoing and friendly - as in, you charm even the crankiest customer, before or after caffeine -- as well as responsible, reliable and trustworthy.

They have an excellent staff and pride themselves on their professionalism. Food handler certification is a plus, and you'll be required to get it after starting. Their company is committed to hiring and developing the talents of women, queer folks, people of color, and other demographics underrepresented in specialty coffee.
