Irving Farm New York's first cafe opened in 1996 on Irving Place in Gramercy Park. Today there are eight (soon to be nine) locations across Manhattan with a cafe and Roastery upstate in Millerton. Role

Irving Farm NYC is seeking a part-time or full-time barista! They are looking for someone with outstanding customer service skills who is detail-oriented and able to work well with others.

Responsibilities

  • Practice proper cleaning and preventative maintenance for espresso and brewing equipment

  • Be knowledgeable about new coffee offerings and participate in tastings of new coffees

  • Follow Irving Farm standards for opening and closing procedures

  • Uphold and maintain the standards of Irving Farm New York

  • Make drinks in a consistent manner

  • Provide service in a fun, friendly and efficient way

  • Maintain a clean and functioning bar

  • Happily assist staff from other departments when requested and where able

  • Stay informed and educated on industry trends and developments

  • Register and Customer Service

Requirements

  • At least 12 months experience as barista, preferably at a high volume café

  • Candidates must have open availability and a willingness to work irregular hours, including nights and weekends

  • Preference will be given to those with a NYS Food Handler's license; obtaining a license within 30 days of hire will be a requirement of the position
